Locum Tenens Electrophysiology (EP) Cardiologist - Outpatient & EP Lab, Petoskey MI

A well-established cardiovascular program in Petoskey, Michigan is seeking an electrophysiology cardiologist to provide consistent clinic and EP lab coverage. This locum opportunity offers a predictable Monday-Friday schedule (8:00 AM-5:00 PM) with no nights, weekends, or on-call responsibilities - ideal for someone who wants a focused, balanced practice centered on electrophysiology procedures and outpatient care.

What you’ll do

• Provide comprehensive EP consultations and follow-up care in the outpatient clinic
• Evaluate and manage patients with cardiac rhythm disorders
• Perform EP procedures in the electrophysiology lab, including EP studies and ablations
• Manage cardiac implantable electronic devices (pacemakers and ICDs)
• Interpret ECGs, ambulatory monitoring studies, and electrophysiology testing
• Collaborate daily with cardiologists, advanced practice providers, nursing staff, and cath lab personnel
• Maintain timely, accurate documentation in Cerner
• Deliver patient-centered, high-quality cardiovascular care

Schedule and practice details

• Coverage needed: approximately 3 weeks per month
• Days: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
• Practice setting: outpatient clinic plus EP lab
• EP lab days: two dedicated days per week
• Patient volume: roughly 20 clinic patients per day
• No nights, weekends, or on-call duties
• EMR: Cerner

What we’re looking for

• Proven electrophysiology expertise with independent procedural experience
• Comfortable managing both outpatient and procedural patient populations
• Strong knowledge of arrhythmia management and cardiac device therapies
• Experience with EP studies, ablations, and device management preferred

Qualifications

• MD or DO
• Board certified in Cardiovascular Disease
• Board certified or board eligible in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology preferred
• Active Michigan medical license and DEA registration
• COVID-19 vaccination required
