Locum Emergency Medicine Physician - 24-Hour Shift (Dec 29, 2026) in Berlin, NH

We’re looking for a locum Emergency Medicine physician to cover a 24-hour shift in Berlin, New Hampshire, starting at 8:00 AM on December 29, 2026. This is an immediate need with the potential for additional occasional 24-hour shifts on an ongoing basis as coverage demands arise across affiliated hospitals.

What the shift looks like

• Single 24-hour shift: 8:00 AM-8:00 AM (Dec 29-30, 2026)
• Opportunity to join the provider roster for future 24-hour coverage
• Rural Critical Access Hospital environment with roughly 8,500 ED visits per year
• Typical daily volume: about 25 patients
• Solo physician coverage in the ED, with 24/7 backup available from Anesthesia, General Surgery, OB/GYN, Orthopedics, and Hospital Medicine
• EMR: Meditech
• Tertiary referral hospitals available when needed

Who we’re hoping to hear from

• Physicians who are semi-local and within driving distance are strongly preferred
• Candidates willing to be added to the on-call/coverage roster for future shifts

Requirements

• Board certified in Emergency Medicine or Family Medicine
• Completion of an ACGME-, AOA-, or Royal College-accredited residency in Emergency Medicine, Family Practice, General Surgery, or Internal Medicine
• New Hampshire medical license required; permanent NH license preferred (temporary licenses are not accepted)
• Minimum of 100 patient encounters in the past 12 months
• Current American Heart Association certifications: ACLS, PALS, ATLS, and NRP
