Locums Neurosurgeon - Petoskey MI | 14 days/month Call, Emergent OR & Inpatient Rounding

We’re looking for a Locum neurosurgeon to provide emergent call coverage and inpatient care in Petoskey, Michigan. This role combines urgent surgical intervention, daily inpatient rounding, and coordination with on-site resources and colleagues.

What you’ll be doing:

• Provide emergent call coverage and perform emergent surgeries as needed
• Round on inpatients daily (expected census ~5-10 patients per day)
• Collaborate with one neurosurgeon and one orthopedic spine surgeon on site
• Work with a neurosurgery APP who supports clinic activities
• Use on-site imaging, laboratory, procedure rooms, and operating room facilities
• Document and manage patient care in Cerner EMR

Shift details:

• 14 days per month of call coverage
• 24-hour call shifts
• Specific coverage windows:
  • October 2, 2026, 8:00 AM - October 6, 2026, 8:00 AM
  • October 29, 2026, 8:00 AM - November 6, 2026, 8:00 AM

Qualifications:

• Board Certified in Neurosurgery (Board Eligible candidates will not be considered)
• Completed neurosurgery fellowship
• Minimum 2-3 years of post-fellowship experience
• Current ACLS certification
