Job Description
Locum daytime hospitalist position in Live Oak, TX providing inpatient adult care in collaboration with physicians, nursing, and the multidisciplinary team.
Key responsibilities
- Evaluate and manage hospitalized adult patients during daytime shifts.
- Perform admissions, daily follow-ups, discharges, and cross-coverage as assigned.
- Develop and implement treatment plans in coordination with the hospitalist team.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests; initiate and manage appropriate interventions.
- Respond to urgent and emergent patient-care needs on the unit.
- Communicate clearly with physicians, nursing staff, patients, and families.
- Complete timely, accurate medical record documentation and discharge summaries.
Qualifications
- NP: Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program with national certification.
- PA: Graduate of an ARC-PA-accredited Physician Assistant program with current NCCPA certification.
- Active or eligible for Texas licensure (NP/PA).
- Current BLS required.
- Prior inpatient/hospitalist experience preferred.
Location and schedule
- Daytime shifts in Live Oak, Texas.
- Locum (temporary/contract) assignment.
