Locums Emergency Medicine Physician (24-hr Shift) - Berlin, NH (Dec 29, 2026)

We are seeking a locum Emergency Medicine physician to provide coverage at a rural critical access hospital in Berlin, New Hampshire. The immediate engagement is a single 24-hour shift starting at 8:00 AM on December 29, 2026, with opportunities for additional occasional 24-hour shifts on an ongoing basis. Semi-local candidates within driving distance are strongly preferred and may be added to the provider roster for future coverage across affiliated hospitals.

Position highlights:

• Immediate shift: 24 hours, 8:00 AM-8:00 AM on December 29, 2026
• Ongoing: occasional additional 24-hour shifts as needed
• ED volume: approximately 8,500 visits per year (roughly 25 patients/day)
• Practice environment: rural critical access hospital with solo physician coverage
• Physician support: 24/7 backup from Anesthesia, General Surgery, OB/GYN, Orthopedics, and Hospital Medicine
• Transfer relationships: tertiary referral hospitals available as needed
• EMR: Meditech
• Candidate preference: semi-local, driving distance preferred

Requirements:

• Board certified in Emergency Medicine or Family Medicine
• Completion of an ACGME-, AOA-, or Royal College-accredited residency in Emergency Medicine, Family Practice, General Surgery, or Internal Medicine
• New Hampshire medical license required; permanent NH license preferred (temporary licenses are not accepted)
• Minimum of 100 patient encounters within the last 12 months
• Current American Heart Association certifications: ACLS, PALS, ATLS, and NRP
