Location: Northampton, MA
Type: Locum - call-only (weekend coverage)
Schedule and Compensation
- Coverage: approximately 1 weekend every 5 weeks
- Weekend window: Friday 3:00 PM through Monday 6:00 AM
- Includes 24-hour overnight call as applicable (7:00 PM-7:00 AM)
- Rate: $2,800-$3,000 per day
Clinical Responsibilities
- Provide inpatient GI consultation and management for adult patients
- Serve as specialty backup to hospitalist team (hospitalists take first call)
- Perform endoscopic procedures as needed (upper and lower endoscopy, colonoscopy)
- Round on assigned patients in the hospital
- Practice in a hospital-based setting using Epic EMR
- Bread-and-butter gastroenterology cases
Requirements
- MD or DO
- Board certified in Gastroenterology
- Active Massachusetts medical license
- Current DEA registration
- BLS certification
- Experience comfortable providing inpatient GI consultations, rounding, and performing endoscopic procedures
