Locums CRNA - Level III Trauma Hospital (Douglas/Casper, WY)

Join a Level III trauma hospital near Casper, WY, as a locum Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist providing focused, high-quality anesthesia care across inpatient, outpatient surgery, and labor & delivery settings. This role offers a manageable daily case load, flexible monthly scheduling, and the chance to practice in a collaborative, supportive environment.

Schedule and Coverage

• Coverage: 2 weeks per month
• Days: Monday-Friday
• Typical hours: 7:00 AM-1:00 PM (may vary with case volume)
• No additional on-call obligations specified

Clinical Setting and Patient Volume

• Hospital-based practice at a Level III Trauma center
• Mix of inpatient, outpatient surgical cases, and L&D
• Average volume: 7-10 cases per day
• Patient population: primarily adults with occasional light pediatric cases; no surgical patients under age 3 except for L&D/neonatal situations

Key Responsibilities

• Provide anesthesia care for a broad range of surgical procedures
• Administer general, regional, and local anesthesia; perform epidurals and nerve blocks
• Manage anesthesia for labor & delivery and provide neonatal support as needed
• Continuously monitor patients pre-, intra-, and post-operatively
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, obstetrics teams, and perioperative staff to ensure patient safety and quality outcomes

Qualifications

• Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA)
• Active Wyoming license or eligible for the IMLC
• ACLS required (for conscious sedation privileges)
• AHA PALS certification required
• Proven experience with epidurals, regional blocks, and general anesthesia, including comfort with light pediatric and neonatal L&D cases
