Locum Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) - Telehealth Lead, NY (Adult/Geriatric)

Locum telehealth Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner role providing statewide behavioral health care across New York. Responsible for psychiatric assessment, medication management, consultation, and clinical leadership in collaboration with primary care and interdisciplinary teams. Geriatric, Primary Care, or Internal Medicine experience encouraged.

Compensation: $75-$95 per hour

Schedule and Setting

• Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM (40 hours/week)
• Telehealth primary; must be available to come onsite for special cases as needed
• Patient population: Adult and geriatric
• Bilingual preferred but not required

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive psychiatric assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
• Manage psychotropic medications; recommend adjustments using evidence-based guidelines
• Deliver psychopharmacology, brief psychotherapy, CBT-based interventions, psychoeducation, and emotional support
• Provide behavioral health consultation to care managers, primary care providers, and interdisciplinary teams
• Monitor mental status, treatment effectiveness, and patient outcomes; revise interventions as needed
• Offer telephone consultation for complex or urgent behavioral health cases
• Coordinate care with primary care and community providers; communicate treatment plans clearly
• Provide education and in-service training for primary care staff on behavioral health conditions and management
• Support multidisciplinary care planning and integration of behavioral and primary care services
• Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation and comply with clinical, ethical, legal, and regulatory standards

Minimum Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Nursing from an accredited NP program
• Graduate-level specialization in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing
• PMHNP board certification required
• Active, unrestricted New York RN and NP licenses
• Current DEA registration and New York prescribing privileges
• Minimum of 1 year NP experience preferred
• Psychiatric prescribing experience preferred
• Experience working with geriatric patients preferred
