Locums Maternal-Fetal Medicine Physician - High-Risk OB & Ultrasound, Detroit (Flexible Call)

Board-Certified Locum Maternal-Fetal Medicine Physician needed for inpatient and outpatient coverage in Detroit, Michigan. Responsibilities include high-risk obstetrical care, ultrasound interpretation, inpatient consultations, resident supervision, and call coverage.

Location

• Detroit, Michigan

Schedule & call

• Monday-Friday: 8:00 AM-6:00 PM
• Weekday: In-house coverage for outpatient ultrasound and inpatient consults
• Weeknights: Phone call coverage with in-person inpatient support as needed
• Weekends: 24-hour call coverage Saturday-Sunday
• Callbacks: Minimal (approximately one callback per shift, if any)
• After January: recurring coverage ~2×/month - in-house Thu-Fri and call Sat-Sun

Clinical responsibilities

• Manage and round on inpatient MFM patients in collaboration with residents
• Provide inpatient and phone consultations; perform in-person evaluations when indicated
• Interpret obstetrical ultrasound studies and provide related consultation
• Supervise residents in the high-risk OB clinic as needed
• Provide comprehensive care for high-risk and medically complex obstetrical patients
• Collaborate with OB/GYN physicians, residents, and the multidisciplinary care team

Procedures required

• Amniocentesis
• Cerclage (including rescue cerclage)
• External cephalic version (ECV)

Procedures preferred

• Chorionic villus sampling (CVS)

Qualifications

• Board certification in Maternal-Fetal Medicine required
• Active Michigan medical license or eligibility via the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Experience managing high-risk obstetrical patients
• Strong ultrasound interpretation and consultation skills
