Job Description
We are seeking a Locums Emergency Medicine physician for an on-site assignment in Nashville, Tennessee. This ongoing opportunity (minimum 6 months) supports a 12-bed Emergency Department with a manageable patient volume and full EM scope.
Key Details
- Duration: ongoing, minimum 6 months
- Shift options: 12-hour shifts (6:00 AM-6:00 PM or 6:00 PM-6:00 AM)
- No call responsibilities
- ED size: 12 beds
- Typical census: under 30 patients/day
- Typical admissions: under 10/day
- On-site coverage with full emergency medicine procedures
Core Responsibilities
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients presenting to the ED
- Manage acute and emergent medical conditions and stabilize patients
- Perform emergency procedures as indicated, including procedural sedation, endotracheal intubation, central line placement, and other standard ED interventions within scope of practice
- Coordinate consultations, admissions, transfers, and follow-up care
- Maintain timely, accurate medical documentation
Qualifications
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine
- Completion of an Emergency Medicine residency
- ABEM certification or eligibility required
- Active Tennessee medical license required
