Part-Time Medical Director / Attending Physician - Skilled Nursing (Springfield, MO)

Location: Springfield, Missouri

Position overview
Provide part-time medical direction and attending physician coverage for local skilled nursing facilities. Partner with Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants to deliver patient-centered care, provide clinical oversight, and support quality outcomes in post-acute and long-term care settings.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as attending physician and medical director across assigned skilled nursing facilities
• Collaborate with onsite APPs to evaluate, diagnose, and manage resident care
• Provide clinical leadership, develop and enforce care protocols, and ensure regulatory compliance
• Document care using company-provided iPad (LTE)
• Participate in interdisciplinary care planning and family communication as needed

Schedule and clinical load

• Part-time; physicians typically cover each facility 1-2 days per week
• No fixed daily start/end times, no overnight shifts, no call responsibilities
• Typical volume: 18-25 visits per day
• Flexible scheduling to support work-life balance
• New graduates who are board-eligible and actively pursuing licensure are encouraged to apply

Qualifications

• MD or DO with unrestricted U.S. medical license or eligibility for licensure
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Geriatrics, PM&R, or Emergency Medicine
• Strong clinical decision-making, communication, and leadership skills
• Commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care
