Job Description
Location: Dickinson, North Dakota
Role: Ongoing locum tenens General Surgery position in a collaborative practice providing inpatient care, outpatient clinic, scheduled surgeries, and call coverage.
Schedule
- Ongoing coverage
- ~14 working days per month with 10 days of call
- Scheduled surgeries Monday-Friday
- Emergency surgery call assigned 24/7
Clinical Responsibilities
- Evaluate and manage general surgery patients in clinic and hospital settings, including pre- and post-operative care
- Provide scheduled operative care and emergency surgical coverage as assigned
- Manage average daily census ~15 patients
- Anticipate 0-5 general surgery patients during a 24-hour call period
Required Procedures/Skills
- Abdominal, stomach, spleen, liver, and colon surgery
- Gallbladder surgery (cholecystectomy)
- Appendectomy
- Laparoscopic procedures
- Endoscopy
Qualifications and Credentials
- Board Certified in General Surgery or Board Eligible (within 3 years of U.S. residency completion)
- Active North Dakota medical license
- Current DEA registration
- ATLS and PALS certifications required
