Locum Tenens Cardiac Surgery Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant - Outpatient (Hackensack, NJ)

Full-time locum tenens role in Hackensack, NJ covering a leave of absence. Outpatient-only position with an established cardiac surgery team.

Compensation

• $125 per hour

Schedule

• Monday-Friday
• Four 10-hour shifts per week (rotating day off)

Clinical responsibilities

• Evaluate and manage preoperative and postoperative cardiac surgery patients
• Clinic volume: ~10 patients per day
• Perform minor postoperative procedures: wound debridement, wound packing placement
• Collaborate with cardiac surgeons and advanced practice providers to maintain continuity of care

Practice environment

• Team includes 5 cardiac surgeons and 5 outpatient APPs
• Clinical APN Manager oversight
• Coordination with inpatient NP/PA team
• Administrative and clinical support: clerical coordinators, scheduling staff, certified medical assistants, office supervisor, office manager

Requirements

• Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with cardiac surgery experience
• Active New Jersey license
• Current DEA and CDS registration
• Outpatient or surgical practice experience managing cardiac surgery patients preferred
