Locum Tenens Electrophysiology (EP) Cardiologist - Petoskey, MI

Join a respected cardiovascular team in Petoskey, Michigan, covering both clinic and electrophysiology lab services in a predictable weekday role - no nights, weekends, or on-call responsibilities. This locum opportunity is ideal for an electrophysiologist who wants a balanced practice focused on outpatient care and procedural EP work.

What the role looks like

• Coverage: roughly 3 weeks per month with daily onsite coverage for clinic and the EP lab
• Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
• Setting: outpatient clinic and electrophysiology lab
• EMR: Cerner
• No weekend coverage, no night call, and no on-call requirements

Clinical responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive EP consultations and follow-up care
• Evaluate and manage patients with cardiac rhythm disorders
• Perform EP procedures, including studies and ablations, in the lab
• Manage cardiac implantable electronic devices (pacemakers, ICDs)
• Interpret ECGs, ambulatory monitoring, and EP testing
• Collaborate closely with cardiologists, advanced practice providers, nursing staff, and cath lab personnel
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in Cerner
• Deliver patient-centered, high-quality cardiovascular care

Typical patient volume

• About 20 outpatient clinic patients per day
• Two dedicated EP lab days per week

Skills and experience we’re looking for

• Demonstrated EP expertise and experience performing EP procedures independently
• Strong knowledge of arrhythmia management and device therapy
• Comfort managing both outpatient and procedural patient populations
• Experience with EP studies, ablations, and device management preferred

Qualifications

• MD or DO required
• Board certified in Cardiovascular Disease
• Board certified or board eligible in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology preferred
• Active Michigan medical license and active DEA registration required
• COVID-19 vaccination required
