Locum Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (Level III NICU) - Lansing, MI

A respected healthcare system in Lansing, Michigan seeks a locum Neonatal Nurse Practitioner to support a busy Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). You will join an experienced neonatology team in a collaborative inpatient environment within a Level I Trauma Center, providing care for critically ill and premature newborns in a high-acuity setting.

Position details

• Setting: Inpatient, Level III NICU
• Facility: Level I Trauma Center
• Shifts: Days 7:00 AM-7:30 PM or Nights 7:00 PM-7:30 AM
• Weekend coverage required; no on-call responsibilities
• EMR: Epic

Clinical responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive neonatal care for critically ill and premature infants
• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage NICU patients; manage admissions, consultations, and discharges
• Participate in daily rounds and multidisciplinary care planning
• Collaborate closely with neonatologists, nursing staff, respiratory therapists, and ancillary services
• Respond to changes in patient condition and initiate appropriate interventions
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in Epic (typical caseload ~10-12 patients per APP per day)

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nurse practitioner program
• Active Michigan NP license required
• Recent neonatal NICU experience required; experience in Level II-IV NICUs preferred
• Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
• Strong neonatal critical care and clinical assessment skills
