Locums Adult & Pediatric ENT (Weekend On-Call, Hospital-Based, MA - No Clinic)

A leading healthcare system in Worcester, MA seeks a locum ENT physician to provide weekend hospital-based call coverage for adult and pediatric patients. This role is 100% on-call with no clinic responsibilities and may be extended beyond the initial assignment.

Assignment details

• Dates: August-September 2026 (possibility of extension)
• Coverage: Two weekends per month
• Schedule: Friday 4:00 PM through Monday 6:00 AM
• Setting: Hospital-based, on-site call
• Surgical coverage required
• No clinic duties

Clinical responsibilities

• Provide weekend call coverage for adult and pediatric ENT patients
• Evaluate and manage ENT emergencies, inpatient consultations, and trauma-related cases
• Perform bedside procedures and operative interventions as indicated
• Collaborate with emergency medicine, hospitalists, surgeons, and resident physicians
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation

Required procedures / clinical skills

• Cerumen removal
• Diagnostic laryngoscopy
• Diagnostic nasal endoscopy
• Excision of tongue fold lesions
• Emergency ENT evaluations and interventions
• Trauma-related ENT management

Qualifications

• MD or DO
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Otolaryngology
• Experience treating both adult and pediatric patients
• Trauma experience required
• Active Massachusetts medical license required prior to start (time-sensitive)
• Active DEA registration required
