Trauma Surgery Physician Assistant - Full-Time (Stockbridge, GA)

Location: Stockbridge, GA
Status: Full-time; Trauma Surgery department

Overview:
Provide acute and perioperative care for trauma patients as a core member of the trauma surgery team. Participate in resuscitation, operative assistance, post-operative management, and multidisciplinary care planning.

Minimum qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
• Certified PA (e.g., NCCPA)
• Active GA PA license
• Significant experience in trauma care and surgical settings

Primary responsibilities:

• Conduct focused histories, physical exams, and diagnostic evaluations for trauma patients
• Participate in initial trauma resuscitation and ongoing critical care management
• Assist in operative procedures: pre-op preparation, intraoperative support, and post-op care
• Manage perioperative orders, wound care, drains, lines, and related follow-up
• Contribute to development and implementation of trauma protocols and quality improvement initiatives
• Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, anesthesiology, and ancillary teams; participate in rounds and case conferences
• Provide patient and family education, discharge planning, and outpatient follow-up coordination
• Maintain documentation and comply with regulatory, billing, and credentialing requirements
