Locums OB/GYN Physician - Short-Term Coverage in Berlin, NH (Prenatal Clinics, L&D & OR)

Scope of coverage

• Provide comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic care across outpatient clinic, emergency department consultation, inpatient care, labor management, and surgical services.
• On-call coverage for outpatient needs, ED consultations, and OB/GYN inpatients.
• Manage labor, perform inpatient rounds, and provide C-section coverage as needed.
• Perform surgeries as primary surgeon or assistant.
• Complete documentation in required EMR and CPOE systems using Dragon voice recognition.

Clinic schedule
Community Prenatal Clinic (FQHC)

• Tuesdays 2:00 PM-5:00 PM; Fridays 9:00 AM-12:00 PM
• 100% prenatal care
• Coverage up to twice weekly

Hospital OB/GYN Clinic

• Typically 1-2 sessions/week (occasionally 3); usually Mondays and Wednesdays
• Sessions start at 9:00 AM, 1-3 hours depending on patient need
• Approximately 90% prenatal, 10% gynecology
• ~12 patients per session (~4 patients/hour)

Additional details

• Facility average: ~80 deliveries per year.
• Occasional scheduled C-sections (commonly at 8:00 AM); scheduling ideally on non-clinic mornings or with later clinic starts.
• Providers new to the facility must arrive one business day before assignment for orientation to hospital, practice, EMR, and CPOE. No night call required during orientation.
• Use of both EMR systems and CPOE required. Dragon voice recognition mandatory; traditional dictation not available.

Requirements

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology
• Active New Hampshire medical license
• Current DEA registration
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
