Full-Time | 24-Hour Shifts | Newborn Nursery & Pediatric Coverage

A hospital-based pediatric program in Bridgeport, Connecticut is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Pediatrician to provide newborn nursery and inpatient pediatric coverage.

Opportunity Highlights:

- Full-time Pediatric Hospitalist / Newborn Nursery opportunity
- Provide newborn nursery and hospital pediatric coverage
- Schedule includes 24-hour shifts
- Six weekday shifts and two weekend shifts per four-week cycle
- Thirteen scheduling cycles per year
- Weekday shifts require onsite coverage from 5:00 PM-10:00 AM with phone availability from 10:00 AM-5:00 PM
- Weekend shifts require onsite coverage for the full 24 hours
- Round on newborns
- Attend scheduled and emergent C-sections
- Manage phototherapy
- Provide occasional pediatric consults to the Emergency Department and inpatient floors
- Stabilize newborns for transport when needed
- No circumcisions
- Hospital averages more than 1,000 deliveries annually
- 24/7 neonatologist support

Candidate Requirements:

- MD or DO
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatrics
- Connecticut medical license or eligibility
- Passion for providing patient-centered pediatric and newborn care
- Comfortable managing newborn nursery and pediatric hospital coverage
- Willingness to work closely within an interdisciplinary team
- Strong communication, collaboration, and clinical judgment skills
