Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant opening in Rapid City, SD
Full-Time | Urgent Care | Varied Hours | No Call
An urgent care clinic in Rapid City, South Dakota is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide outpatient urgent care services in a collaborative, physician-supervised setting.
Opportunity Highlights:
- Full-time Urgent Care APP role
- Predominantly outpatient urgent care setting
- Clinic provides patient access 364 days per year
- Assess, diagnose, treat, and manage urgent care patients
- Manage selected at-risk or complex patients in collaboration with physicians, nurses, and healthcare team members
- May perform procedures within scope of practice
- No operating room requirement
- No practice call or ED/unassigned call requirement
- Responsibilities include ordering appropriate tests, procedures, and therapies
- Provide referrals or transfer patients when appropriate
- Respond to emergency situations based on individual patient needs
- Complete thorough and timely documentation
- Regular full-time position with 40 scheduled weekly hours
- Varied hours based on department needs

Candidate Requirements:
- Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
- South Dakota Certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant certification required
- 1+ year of clinical experience preferred
- 1+ year of healthcare experience preferred
- Urgent Care, Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or acute care experience preferred
- Strong clinical judgment, documentation, communication, and collaboration skills
- Comfortable managing acute illness, minor injuries, procedures, and patient referrals/transfers as needed
