Per Diem Vascular Surgery Physician Assistant (PA-C) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) - Bakersfield, CA

Join a skilled vascular surgery team in Bakersfield, California as a per-diem Advanced Practice Provider supporting inpatient, operating room, and outpatient care. This role includes coverage for vascular clinic visits, postoperative follow-up, and assistance with both endovascular and open procedures. Scheduling is flexible and assigned based on departmental needs and provider availability.

Compensation: $136,500

Schedule

• Per-diem shifts based on coverage needs
• Typical 10-hour weekday shifts, 7:00 AM-5:00 PM
• Flexible scheduling arranged by mutual availability

Key responsibilities

• Provide patient-centered care in an outpatient vascular clinic
• Assist with inpatient endovascular and open vascular surgery cases
• Support procedures at the outpatient surgery center
• Manage vascular conditions including peripheral arterial disease, varicose veins, dialysis access, and carotid disease
• Participate in elective and postoperative clinics, inpatient rounds, and consultations
• Assist vascular surgeons in the operating room and collaborate with multidisciplinary care teams
• Communicate effectively with patients, surgeons, and nursing staff in a fast-paced clinical environment

Qualifications

• Active PA-C or Nurse Practitioner licensure and certification
• 1-2 years of vascular surgery experience strongly preferred
• Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and ability to build rapport with patients
• Ability to work effectively within a collaborative surgical team
