Job Description
Locums assignment providing on-site inpatient orthopedic trauma coverage at a hospital in North Chesterfield (Richmond area), VA.
Location and Schedule
- On-site inpatient coverage
- Night call required (overnight coverage)
- Typical caseload: ~8 patients per day
Systems
- Inpatient EMR: Meditech
- Outpatient EMR: eClinicalWorks (eCW)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide orthopedic trauma coverage for inpatient and emergency cases
- Perform consultations, evaluations, and operative management of trauma patients
- Conduct inpatient rounding and oversee postoperative care
- Respond to orthopedic trauma needs during night call
- Collaborate with emergency medicine, hospitalists, and multidisciplinary teams
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation
Qualifications
- MD or DO
- Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery
- Orthopedic trauma experience
- Active Virginia medical license
