Orthopedic Trauma PA / AGACNP opening in Burlington, MA
Full-Time | 4-Day Work Week | ED, OR, Inpatient & Clinic | Level I Trauma
A tertiary care hospital in Burlington, Massachusetts is seeking a Physician Assistant or Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to join its Orthopedic Trauma service. This position offers broad exposure across the emergency department, operating room, inpatient units, ICU, and outpatient clinic.
Opportunity Highlights:
- Full-time Orthopedic Trauma APP opportunity
- Physician Assistant or AGACNP considered
- 4-day work week
- Four 10-hour weekday shifts
- Practice across the ED, OR, inpatient floor, ICU, and outpatient clinic
- Evaluate and manage orthopedic trauma consultations
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments
- Develop treatment plans in collaboration with Orthopedic Surgeons
- Perform closed reductions of fractures and dislocations
- Apply splints, casts, and immobilization devices
- OR first-assist responsibilities for orthopedic trauma and general orthopedic cases
- Evaluate and manage patients in the outpatient orthopedic clinic
- Perform wound management
- Incision and drainage procedures
- Joint aspirations
- Dressing changes
- Suture and staple removal
- Provide patient and family education regarding injuries, rehabilitation, and recovery
- Coordinate discharge planning and multidisciplinary care
- Level I Trauma Center environment
- Resident-supported orthopedic service
- Exposure to trauma, arthroplasty, sports medicine, hand, foot and ankle, and podiatry
- EPIC EMR
- Hands-on mentorship from trauma surgeons and experienced APPs
- Orthopedic experience preferred but not required
- New graduates and career changers considered
Compensation and Benefits:
- Annual base salary range: **$133,120 – $215,000**

Candidate Requirements:
- Physician Assistant or Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner
- Graduate of an accredited PA program or AGACNP program
- Massachusetts license or eligibility
- Current BLS certification
- Interest in Orthopedic Trauma and procedural care
- Comfortable working across ED, OR, inpatient, ICU, and outpatient settings
- Interest in learning fracture reductions, casting, procedural care, and OR first-assisting
- Orthopedic experience is a plus but not required
- Strong communication, teamwork, and patient-care skills
