Outpatient Psychiatrist opening in Salem, MA
Full-Time | Outpatient Psychiatry | Psychopharmacology | Behavioral Health
An established behavioral health organization in Salem, Massachusetts is seeking a full-time Psychiatrist to provide comprehensive outpatient psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, treatment planning, and medication management.
Opportunity Highlights:
- Full-time outpatient Psychiatry opportunity
- Provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations
- Perform ongoing psychiatric assessments and treatment
- Diagnose and manage mental health disorders
- Develop individualized treatment plans
- Provide psychopharmacologic treatment
- Provide counseling and psychotherapy when indicated
- Monitor medication effectiveness and adverse effects
- Incorporate patient safety and harm-reduction strategies into treatment
- Collaborate with physicians, psychotherapists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, psychologists, social workers, and other behavioral health professionals
- Coordinate care using medical, psychiatric, social, and substance use histories
- Participate in periodic supervision with the Medical Director
- May supervise psychiatric nurse practitioners
- May supervise psychiatry residents and medical students
- Opportunity to participate in multidisciplinary behavioral health care
- Documentation and progress notes completed within 48 hours of service
Compensation and Benefits:
- Annual base salary range: **$300,000 – $370,000**
- Potential productivity incentive compensation
- Potential quality incentive compensation
- Additional benefits and recruitment details to be discussed during the interview process
Candidate Requirements:
- MD or DO
- Current Massachusetts physician license
- Current Board Certification in Psychiatry and Neurology
- Current DEA registration
- Current Massachusetts controlled substance registration
- Knowledge of evidence-based diagnosis and treatment of psychiatric disorders
- Experience with psychotherapy and psychopharmacology
- Strong clinical judgment and patient-safety focus
- Strong communication and multidisciplinary collaboration skills
- Ability to provide supervision when assigned
