Job Description
We are seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Endocrinologist to join a well-established academic endocrinology program affiliated with the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. This role blends high-quality clinical care with meaningful academic engagement - ideal for a clinician-educator who values patient care, teaching, and scholarly activity.
Practice and Academic Highlights
- Predominantly outpatient role: ~10 months per year devoted to outpatient endocrinology and academic duties.
- Limited inpatient coverage: ~2 months per year providing inpatient consultation.
- Clinician-educator focus: direct teaching, supervision, and mentorship of medical students, internal medicine residents, and endocrinology fellows.
- Collaborative environment: work with experienced endocrinologists, advanced practice providers, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Broad clinical scope: management of diabetes, thyroid disease, osteoporosis, obesity, adrenal and pituitary disorders, and other endocrine/metabolic conditions.
- Professional growth: opportunities in quality improvement, educational program development, clinical research, and scholarly activities.
Clinical Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive outpatient evaluation, diagnosis, and management of endocrine and metabolic disorders.
- Manage diabetes care including use of insulin pumps and continuous glucose monitoring, along with thyroid, bone, adrenal, pituitary, and obesity-related conditions.
- Deliver inpatient consultation services during assigned coverage months.
- Coordinate care with primary care physicians, specialists, and advanced practice providers.
- Participate in evidence-based clinical initiatives and practice improvement efforts.
Teaching and Scholarly Activities
- Teach and supervise learners through bedside and outpatient instruction, case conferences, and formal lectures.
- Mentor trainees to strengthen clinical reasoning, diagnostic skills, and evidence-based treatment.
- Contribute to academic conferences and educational program development within the Division of Endocrinology.
- Engage in scholarly work, quality improvement projects, and activities that support Brown University’s medical education mission.
Compensation and Benefits
- Base salary: $230,000-$250,000+, commensurate with experience.
- Sign-on bonus: available.
