Neurosurgeon - Carbondale, IL | Two Weeks On/Two Weeks Off, $823.5K/year

Join our medical team in Carbondale, IL as a neurosurgeon delivering comprehensive surgical care for patients with neurological disorders. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to plan and perform procedures, manage perioperative care, and drive excellent patient outcomes while contributing to department growth and quality initiatives.

Schedule and workload

• Full-time, two weeks on / two weeks off (183 24-hour shifts per year).
• Additional shifts are available and compensated at $4,500 per shift.

Compensation and benefits

• Base compensation: $823,500 per year.

Key responsibilities

• Provide preoperative, operative, and postoperative neurosurgical care across a broad range of pathologies.
• Perform complex and routine neurosurgical procedures with high technical skill and judgment.
• Collaborate with neurology, critical care, radiology, anesthesia, and ancillary services to optimize patient care.
• Participate in quality improvement, peer review, and clinical documentation requirements.
• Support teaching and mentoring as appropriate.

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
• Completion of an accredited neurosurgery residency.
• Board certified or board eligible in neurosurgery.
• Valid Illinois medical license (or ability to obtain one).
• Demonstrated surgical competence across a wide range of neurosurgical procedures.
