Location and Facility

• Amarillo, Texas - 495-bed Level II Trauma Center
• Dedicated Surgical ICU
• On-campus clinic space available in a medical office building

Schedule

• 24-hour shifts
• ~151 shifts per year (12-13 shifts/month)
• Additional backup-only shifts available

Compensation

• Base salary: $544,000/year
• Backup-only shifts: $500/night
• Trauma Medical Director stipend: $80,000/year

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide operative and non-operative trauma and acute care surgical services
• Provide ICU care for critically injured and medically complex patients
• Lead trauma activations and manage emergency surgical cases
• Participate in ACS service coverage and inpatient consultations
• Collaborate with APPs and multidisciplinary teams
• Engage in quality improvement activities
• Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation

Qualifications

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Surgery
• Trauma and/or Surgical Critical Care fellowship preferred
• Eligible for Texas medical licensure
• Prior trauma or high-acuity surgical experience preferred
