Locums Emergency Medicine Physician - 1-Year Rotational Position (Frankfort, KY)

An established hospital in Frankfort, KY is seeking a Locums Emergency Medicine Physician for a one-year assignment with an immediate start. Coverage is needed to fill multiple full-time vacancies on a rotational schedule.

• Average daily census: 85

Clinical Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with emergency conditions
• Provide timely, high-quality care for acute illness and injury
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests; develop and implement treatment plans
• Perform emergency procedures as indicated
• Coordinate patient care with nursing staff, specialists, and other providers
• Maintain accurate medical records and follow clinical protocols

Qualifications & Certifications

• Board-certified or board-eligible in Emergency Medicine preferred
• Non-ABEM physicians with emergency medicine experience will be considered at the regular rate
• ATLS:
  • ABEM-certified physicians: proof of having taken ATLS at least once
  • Non-board-certified physicians: current ATLS required
• Current ACLS required (or complete annual MSO-provided test)
• Current PALS required
• Ability to work a rotational schedule
• Strong clinical judgment and effective communication skills

Credentialing & Privileging

• Temporary privileges may be available for candidates with clean credentialing files, subject to facility approval
• Non-ABEM candidates must complete an in-person interview with the Medical Staff Office prior to privileging
