Job Description
Are you looking for an interventional pain management role that offers true clinical autonomy, zero start-up risk, and top-tier financial rewards?
Lutheran Downtown Hospital is seeking a Board-Certified, Fellowship-Trained Interventional Pain Management Physician (PM&R or Anesthesiology) to establish and lead a brand-new service line. Step into a high-impact, highly lucrative role where you’ll capture massive unaddressed market demand in southeastern Fort Wayne and New Haven—enjoying zero mandatory call, dedicated block time, and immediate internal referral support.
What’s In It For You?
- High Earning Potential & Security: Total compensation guaranteed for 2 years, transitioning into high-upside performance incentives.
- Turnkey Setup & Instant Volume: Capitalize on over 500+ annual in-network referrals currently leaving the health system due to a regional shortage of pain providers. Tap into an eager referral base of primary care physicians, neurosurgeons, and spine surgeons from Day 1.
- No Mandatory Call: Enjoy your evenings and weekends with zero call responsibilities and a predictable 5-day schedule.
- Robust Incentive Package: Commencement Bonus | Student Loan Repayment Assistance | Relocation Package | Fellowship Stipend | CME, Dues, and License Allowance.
- Turnkey Practice & Advanced Technology: Perform procedures using a dedicated hospital C-arm with dedicated block time.
- Built-in APP & Collaborative Support: Full administrative support, clinical staffing, and a dedicated 1.0 FTE Advanced Practice Provider (PA/NP) to assist with clinic volume once ramped up. Work alongside established network leadership for local proctoring and strategic partnership.
Your Role & Clinical Scope
- Outpatient Clinic & Procedures: Split your time evenly between 2–3 outpatient clinic days and 2–3 dedicated hospital procedure days using block time.
- Procedural Focus: Evaluate and treat complex pain disorders with a heavy focus on interventional procedures—not prescription management.
- EMR: Cerner.
Candidate Qualifications
- Education: MD or DO from an accredited program.
- Training: ACGME-accredited Fellowship in Pain Medicine (Anesthesiology or PM&R background).
- Board Certification: Board Certified in Pain Medicine (or Board Eligible for recent fellowship graduates).
- Experience: Open to both Experienced Physicians and Graduating Fellows.
- Visa Sponsorship: Visa candidates are not supported for this position.
- Key Traits: High procedural focus, entrepreneurial drive to build a service line, and a collaborative approach to supervising and partnering with Advanced Practice Providers.
