Locum Tenens OB/GYN Physician - Inpatient Coverage (Kearney, NE)

Location and facility

• Kearney, Nebraska - 268-bed regional referral center (acute care hospital with inpatient and outpatient services)
• EMR: Epic
• Coverage: Inpatient OB/GYN, including emergency department call

Role summary
Provide comprehensive inpatient obstetric and gynecologic care to support staffing gaps. Duties include daily rounds, consult management, emergency department response for urgent deliveries and gynecologic emergencies, and performance of operative procedures as required.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily rounds on all patients admitted to the OB/GYN service
• Evaluate and manage inpatient and emergency consultations
• Respond to ED calls for precipitous deliveries and perform vaginal and cesarean deliveries as needed
• Provide gynecologic emergency evaluation and treatment
• Diagnose and manage conditions of pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period
• Perform major and minor abdominal and vaginal surgical procedures of the pelvis and related structures
• Manage obstetric and gynecologic emergencies and coordinate patient care with hospital staff and specialists
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in Epic

Qualifications

• Board-Certified or Board-Eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology
• Completion of an OB/GYN residency from an ACGME- or AOA-accredited program
• Active Nebraska medical license or IMLC eligibility with an active Letter of Qualification (LOQ)
