Locums Hematology-Oncology Physician - Outpatient-Only, Chemotherapy Oversight in Pendleton, OR

Join a team in Pendleton, Oregon as a locum tenens hematology-oncology physician focused entirely on outpatient care. You’ll work in an outpatient clinic and hospital-based outpatient setting, overseeing the chemotherapy program, managing follow-up care, and performing bone marrow biopsies - with no inpatient admissions or on-call obligations.

Schedule & details

• Typical shift: Monday-Thursday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
• Coverage: roughly 3 weeks per month (3-day workweeks can be considered)
• Patient volume: about 15-18 patients per day
• Consults: ~1-3 per week
• EMR systems: eClinicalWorks and Meditech

What you’ll do

• Provide outpatient hematology and oncology consultations, evaluations, and ongoing management
• Direct and oversee the hospital-based outpatient chemotherapy program
• Create and manage individualized treatment plans for patients with hematologic disorders and malignancies
• Perform bone marrow biopsies and monitor treatment response
• Manage side effects and make therapy adjustments as needed
• Coordinate care with nursing staff, oncology support teams, and other healthcare professionals
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in eClinicalWorks and Meditech

Qualifications

• Board-certified in Hematology and Board-certified in Medical Oncology, or Board-eligible in Medical Oncology
• Board-eligible candidates should have completed residency within the past 0-5 years
• Active Oregon medical license required
• Current BLS certification required
• Completion of appropriate residency and fellowship training
