Job Description
We are seeking a Family Medicine Physician for a full-time locum tenens opportunity in North Carolina. This three-month assignment offers the potential for extension and involves providing medical care to adults with complex medical needs, severe mental illness, and dementia.
Overview
- Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
- Phone and pager coverage from home on a rotating schedule, approximately one in four
- Approximately 7–8 days per month for call, including potential weekday and weekend coverage
- Conduct daily medical rounds and evaluate acute and non-emergent medical conditions
- Manage illnesses, injuries, and ongoing medical needs of assigned residents
- Perform admission history and physical examinations and discharge evaluations
- Review laboratory results, EKGs, X-rays, consultations, and other clinical reports
- Order appropriate treatments, diagnostic studies, and follow-up assessments
- Complete required clinical documentation and 30-day and 60-day resident assessments
- EMR: Epic
Requirements
- MD or DO degree
- Active North Carolina medical license in good standing
- Board eligible accepted, board certification preferred
- Current American Heart Association BLS certification
