Locums Neurologist - Board-Certified, Inpatient/Outpatient + 24/7 Call in Petoskey, MI

We are seeking a Board-Certified Neurologist for a locum tenens assignment in Petoskey, Michigan. The physician will deliver comprehensive inpatient and outpatient neurological care, perform diagnostic and bedside procedures, interpret EEGs, and provide continuous inpatient call coverage including rotating weekend shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage neurological disorders in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Provide onsite hospital coverage for scheduled shifts and when outpatient clinics are not running.
• See approximately 6-8 patients per day in clinic.
• Provide 24/7 inpatient and after-hours call coverage, including rotating 24-hour weekend coverage (8:00 AM-8:00 AM).
• Interpret inpatient and outpatient EEG studies as required.
• Perform lumbar punctures and brain death examinations.
• Review radiologic studies and perform evoked potential testing when indicated.
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in Cerner EMR.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care.

Schedule and practice details

• Regular hours: 8:00 AM-4:30 PM.
• Outpatient clinic: Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri, 1:00 PM-3:00 PM.
• Patient volume: ~6-8 patients/day.
• Call: continuous inpatient coverage with after-hours and weekend rotations.
• EMR: Cerner.
• Onsite hospital and clinic coverage required.

Qualifications

• MD or DO.
• Board Certified in Neurology.
• Active Michigan medical license.
• Current DEA registration.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
