Locums Emergency Medicine Physician - Level II Trauma, Fort Walton Beach (Days/Nights, 7+ Shifts/Month)

Schedule & Assignment

• Shift coverage: Days and nights
• Minimum commitment: 7 shifts per month
• Assignment length: Ongoing PRN (6+ months) with likely extension

Emergency Department

• Beds: 44
• Volume: ~1.6 patients per hour per provider (24-hour avg)
• Patient mix: 85% adults, 15% pediatrics
• Admission rate: 27%

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat a broad range of emergency conditions for adults and pediatrics
• Manage trauma cases appropriate to a Level II Trauma Center
• Determine treatment plans, admissions, transfers, and discharges
• Collaborate with nursing staff, specialists, and other clinicians
• Complete accurate and timely medical documentation

Qualifications

• Residency-trained Emergency Medicine physicians: board-certified or board-eligible
• ACLS certification required
• ATLS completion required for residency-trained Emergency Medicine physicians
• Family Medicine physicians considered case-by-case if board-certified and either fellowship-trained in Emergency Medicine or with ≥1 year of higher-volume Emergency Medicine experience; active ATLS required
• Internal Medicine-trained clinicians not eligible
• Ability to commit to minimum 7 shifts per month
