Locums Interventional Cardiologist - STEMI Call, Cath Lab & Inpatient/Outpatient Coverage (Kearney, NE)

We’re looking for a Board-Certified Interventional Cardiology physician to join a locum team in Kearney, Nebraska. You’ll divide your time between inpatient care, outpatient clinics, performing cardiac catheterization procedures, and covering STEMI calls. You’ll work closely with APPs and hospitalists to deliver comprehensive cardiovascular care.

Schedule & coverage

• Minimum commitment: two weeks per month, starting in January and ongoing.
• Weekday inpatient rounds: Monday-Friday.
• Weekend inpatient rounds: Saturday-Sunday.
• Outpatient clinic: 8:00 AM-4:00 PM Monday-Friday on days you’re not assigned inpatient service.
• Call ratio: 1:3, with weekend coverage and call responsibilities required.
• Average callback: about 9.8 hours on weekdays and 10.4 hours on weekends.

Facility snapshot

• Community hospital, 175 beds.
• Typical inpatient census: 8-10 patients on weekdays, 6-7 on weekends.
• Cardiac cath volume: roughly 8-9 add-on procedures per week, primarily for inpatients.
• EMR: Epic.
• Strong clinical support from APPs and hospitalists.

Key responsibilities

• Provide daily inpatient cardiovascular care and rounds.
• Perform add-on cardiac catheterization procedures, mainly for hospitalized patients.
• See patients in outpatient clinic for evaluations and follow-up.
• Respond to STEMI calls and manage acute cardiac emergencies.
• Diagnose and treat coronary artery disease and other cardiovascular conditions.
• Coordinate treatment plans with APPs, hospitalists, and consulting specialists.
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in Epic.

Candidate requirements

• Board-Certified in Interventional Cardiology.
• Active Nebraska medical license.
• Proven experience performing cardiac catheterization and other interventional cardiology procedures.
