Locums Interventional Cardiologist - Inpatient PCI & Emergency Call (Mechanicsville, VA)

Locums opportunity in Mechanicsville, VA for a Board-Certified Interventional Cardiology physician. Inpatient coverage with procedural and urgent-care responsibilities.

Schedule & Call

• Weekday onsite: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-5:00 PM
• Weekday evening/night call: Monday-Friday, 5:00 PM-7:00 AM
• Weekend call: Saturday 7:00 AM-Monday 7:00 AM
• Weekend and on-call coverage required
• Call ratio approximately 9 VCS : 7 RHV (final ratio TBD)

Facility

• 250 total hospital beds
• 30 ICU beds
• Practice setting: inpatient care and on-call interventional coverage

Key Responsibilities

• Perform coronary angiography and diagnostic cardiac catheterization
• Perform PCI procedures including balloon angioplasty and coronary angioplasty
• Perform atherectomy and use embolic protection devices
• Provide carotid artery stenting when indicated
• Manage vascular disease and develop treatment plans
• Respond to urgent cardiac consults and interventional emergencies
• Provide inpatient cardiovascular care and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and follow established protocols

Qualifications

• Board-Certified in Interventional Cardiology
• Active Virginia medical license
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications
• Demonstrated experience with coronary interventions, PCI, cardiac catheterization, and vascular procedures
