Trauma/Acute Care Surgery Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) - Visalia, CA

Location: Visalia, CA
Compensation: $150,000 for 183 shifts
Facility: Level III trauma center - ~2,200 annual trauma activations; provides inpatient, consultative, perioperative, ICU, and ward care

Role overview:
Join a multi-disciplinary trauma team to provide daytime coverage for Trauma and Acute Care Surgery. Work collaboratively with attending surgeons, residents, and intensivists to manage trauma and emergency surgical patients across the ED, ICU, and surgical wards.

Primary responsibilities:

• Provide daytime coverage for Trauma and Acute Care Surgery services
• Perform ED consults and participate in initial assessment and stabilization
• Assist in operative cases and provide postoperative management
• Manage surgical ward and ICU patients, including continuity of care and handoffs
• Coordinate discharge planning and outpatient follow-up arrangements
• Participate in quality improvement and implementation of evidence-based trauma practices
• Communicate effectively with surgeons, residents, nursing staff, and ancillary services

Required qualifications:

• Active, unrestricted state license as a Physician Assistant (PA-C) or Nurse Practitioner (ACNP/NP)
• Surgical or trauma experience preferred
• Strong clinical assessment, procedural, and critical-thinking skills
• Proven ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team

Location notes:
Visalia is in California’s Central Valley with access to Sequoia National Park and the Sierra Nevada. Commute access to Fresno and Bakersfield.
