Role overview

• Provide advanced practice support for orthopedic trauma alongside the on-call surgeon.
• Manage inpatient care, new consults, outpatient clinic visits, and assist in operative procedures.
• Work within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team caring for high-acuity patients.

Schedule & compensation

• Shift length: 10 hours (7:00 AM-5:00 PM)
• Daily coverage; no after-hours call
• Compensation: $720 per shift
• Full-time, shift-based with flexible scheduling

Key responsibilities

• Round with the on-call orthopedic trauma surgeon and manage ongoing inpatient care
• Evaluate and treat new orthopedic trauma consultations
• Participate in outpatient clinics and follow-up visits
• Assist in the operating room for orthopedic trauma procedures
• Coordinate care with surgeons, nursing, and other clinical teams
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation to support quality outcomes

Minimum qualifications

• Licensed Physician Assistant with current California license or ability to obtain one
• Prior orthopedic surgery experience preferred; willingness to learn and develop trauma skills
• Commitment to collaborative, high-quality clinical care
