Cardiothoracic Surgery APP Lead - Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (Martinsburg, WV)

Join a growing Heart & Vascular Institute in Martinsburg, West Virginia to provide advanced clinical care and APP leadership for the Cardiothoracic Surgery service. This role combines direct inpatient management of cardiothoracic surgery patients with oversight of the APP team and participation in program development.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive inpatient care for cardiothoracic surgery patients, including preoperative evaluation, postoperative management, and discharge planning
• Evaluate and diagnose patients; develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with cardiothoracic surgeons
• Lead and mentor APPs: assist with staffing, onboarding, credentialing, scheduling, and professional development
• Coordinate multidisciplinary care to ensure high-quality, patient-centered outcomes
• Participate in quality improvement, education, research, and departmental leadership activities
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure compliance with hospital policies and standards

Required Qualifications

• NP (ACNP or FNP preferred) or PA (NCCPA-certified)
• Graduate of an accredited NP or PA program
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in Cardiothoracic Surgery
• Current BLS; ACLS as required by department
• Ability to obtain and maintain licensure in West Virginia and Virginia
• Strong leadership, communication, and clinical decision-making skills
