Locum Tenens OB/GYN Physician - Inpatient Hospital, Paducah KY (Nov 25-29 + Ongoing)

We’re looking for a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Obstetrics and Gynecology physician to provide locum tenens inpatient coverage at a hospital in Paducah, Kentucky. You’ll provide EMTALA call coverage and manage obstetric deliveries, emergency gynecologic care, and complex labor and delivery cases alongside the hospital team.

Schedule and Shifts

• Coverage window: November 25-29, with the opportunity for ongoing coverage.
• Ongoing expectation: roughly 6-7 shifts per month, with potential for additional shifts.
• Shift length: 24-hour shifts (7:00 AM to 7:00 AM).
• Call format: in-house plus beeper/phone as needed.
• Weekend coverage is required.
• Providers needed: 1-3 per coverage period.

Clinical Responsibilities

• Manage routine vaginal deliveries, including low-forceps deliveries.
• Evaluate patients and make clinical decisions regarding Cesarean sections.
• Handle complicated deliveries, including breech presentations, multiple births, and placental abruption.
• Provide care for patients pursuing vaginal birth after Cesarean (VBAC).
• Repair third- and fourth-degree perineal lacerations.
• Cover obstetric and gynecologic emergencies and respond to inpatient gynecologic consults.
• Coordinate patient care with midwives and other clinical staff.

Practice Details

• Setting: hospital-based, 100% inpatient.
• Patient population: adult.
• Typical patient volume: 1-6 patients per day.
• Call coverage required, including GYN call.
• No teaching or leadership responsibilities for this assignment.

Qualifications

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
• Active Kentucky medical license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Current DEA registration.
