Locum Tenens Hand Surgeon - Level I Trauma Center (Lakewood, CO)

Join a Level I trauma center in Lakewood, Colorado as a locum hand surgery physician providing 24-hour call coverage. You’ll support the ED and transfer center by evaluating and managing acute hand injuries, coordinating care with inpatient and emergency teams, and documenting all consultations in Epic. Note: this facility does not perform reimplantation procedures.

Compensation

• $3,200 per day

Schedule & setting

• 24-hour shifts (7:00 AM-7:00 AM)
• Weekend coverage required
• Inpatient, Emergency Department, Level I Trauma Center
• On-call responsibilities expected
• EMR: Epic

Key responsibilities

• Provide timely call coverage for ED and transfer center hand-related consultations
• Assess and manage acute hand injuries; recommend appropriate treatment plans
• Coordinate care and transfer decisions with ED and inpatient teams
• Thoroughly document evaluations and plans in Epic
• Cover hand surgery emergencies (excluding reimplantations)

Qualifications

• Board certified in Hand Surgery or an applicable surgical specialty with hand surgery qualifications
• Active Colorado medical license
• Current DEA registration
