Locums Hematology-Oncology Physician - Outpatient Only, Chemotherapy Oversight, Bone Marrow Biopsies

Join a team in Pendleton, OR providing outpatient-focused hematology and oncology care. This locum tenens role centers on clinic- and hospital-based outpatient services, including oversight of the chemotherapy program and performing bone marrow biopsies. You’ll manage roughly 15-18 patients per day, with minimal consult volume, and won’t have inpatient admissions or rounding responsibilities.

Schedule & details

• Days, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM, Monday-Thursday
• Coverage: about 3 weeks per month (3-day workweeks may be considered)
• Practice setting: outpatient clinic and hospital-based outpatient services
• Patient volume: ~15-18 patients/day
• Consults: ~1-3 per week
• No inpatient responsibilities
• EMR systems: eClinicalWorks and Meditech

What you’ll do

• Provide outpatient hematology and oncology consultations, evaluations, and ongoing management
• Direct and oversee the hospital-based outpatient chemotherapy program
• Create and manage individualized treatment plans for patients with hematologic disorders and malignancies
• Perform bone marrow biopsies
• Monitor treatment response, manage side effects, and adjust therapies as needed
• Coordinate care with nursing staff, oncology support teams, and other clinicians
• Maintain timely, accurate documentation in eClinicalWorks and Meditech

Qualifications

• Board-Certified in Hematology and Board-Certified in Medical Oncology, or Board-Eligible in Medical Oncology
• Board-Eligible candidates should have completed residency within the past 0-5 years
• Active Oregon medical license required
• Current BLS certification required
• Completion of appropriate residency and fellowship training
