Locums Orthopedic Surgeon - Full-Time, Level II Trauma Center (Saginaw, MI)

We’re looking for an experienced Locums Orthopedic Surgery physician to join a busy practice in Saginaw, Michigan. This full-time role blends outpatient clinic work, scheduled OR time, and hospital call coverage at a Level II trauma center. The ideal candidate is comfortable with the full spectrum of orthopedic surgery and has experience managing orthopedic trauma.

What you’ll do

• Deliver comprehensive orthopedic care across inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Evaluate new and returning patients, perform office-based procedures and joint injections, and manage follow-up care.
• Perform elective cases in the OR and treat musculoskeletal injuries.
• Provide ED consults, daily inpatient rounding, and orthopedic call coverage.
• Handle emergent operations and trauma surgeries as they arise.
• Work closely with advanced practice providers and the multidisciplinary care team.
• Document thoroughly in Epic and use Dragon for clinical notes.

Schedule highlights

• Full-time position covering inpatient and outpatient responsibilities.
• Call: 10-11 days per month; 24-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 AM.
• Typical clinic hours: 8:00 AM-4:30 PM.
• Office days generally Monday and Wednesday (flexible).
• OR days generally Tuesday and Thursday (flexible).
• On non-call days you’ll be scheduled for clinic and OR responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Board-eligible or board-certified physician trained in the full scope of orthopedic surgery.
• Orthopedic trauma experience preferred.
• Current AHA BLS certification required.
