Locums Nocturnist EM Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant - Lake City, FL

We’re looking for a Locum NP or PA to join a busy emergency department in Lake City, FL, providing consistent nocturnal/PM coverage. This is a clinically focused role within a supportive, collaborative emergency medicine team.

Schedule and setting

• Night/PM shifts (nocturnist coverage)
• 10-12 hour clinical shifts
• Consistent nighttime coverage needed
• Facility is not a designated trauma center

Emergency department facts

• 40 ED bays
• Average volume ~1.8 patients per hour
• 10-11 emergency medicine providers covering 24 hours
• Standard ED support staff and a collaborative team culture
• Nurse-to-patient ratio approximately 1:4

What you’ll do

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients presenting to the ED
• Take focused histories and perform physical exams with sound medical decision-making
• Develop and implement treatment plans and order/interpret diagnostic tests
• Perform common emergency procedures within your scope of practice
• Stabilize and manage urgent or emergent cases and coordinate admissions, transfers, and consultations
• Complete accurate, timely medical documentation

• Licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
• 1-2 years of emergency medicine experience
