Locums Emergency Medicine Physician - 24-hr Rural Critical Access Shift in Berlin, NH (Dec 29)

We are seeking a Locum Emergency Medicine physician to provide coverage in Berlin, New Hampshire. The immediate need is a 24-hour shift beginning at 8:00 AM on December 29, 2026, with additional occasional shifts available on an ongoing basis. Semi-local candidates within driving distance are preferred and encouraged to join the provider roster for future 24-hour coverage across affiliated hospitals.

Position highlights:

• Immediate coverage: 24-hour shift starting 8:00 AM on December 29, 2026
• Typical shift: 8:00 AM-8:00 AM
• Ongoing, occasional shifts available
• ED volume: ~8,500 visits/year (≈25 patients/day)
• Rural Critical Access Hospital environment
• Solo physician coverage with 24/7 backup from Anesthesia, General Surgery, OB/GYN, Orthopedics, and Hospital Medicine
• EMR: Meditech
• Access to tertiary referral hospitals for escalation as needed
• Preference for semi-local candidates within driving distance

Requirements:

• Board certified in Emergency Medicine or Family Medicine
• Completion of an ACGME-, AOA-, or Royal College-accredited residency in Emergency Medicine, Family Practice, General Surgery, or Internal Medicine
• Active New Hampshire medical license required; permanent NH license preferred (temporary licenses are not accepted)
• Minimum of 100 patient encounters in the past 12 months
• Current American Heart Association certifications: ACLS, PALS, ATLS, and NRP
