Locums General/Trauma Surgeon - 26 wks/yr, 2-on/2-off Block Schedule, Above-Market Pay

We’re looking for a locums general surgeon to join a developing surgical program in Paducah, Kentucky. This full-time locums position uses a unique 26-weeks-per-year model that supports a strong work-life balance while delivering comprehensive trauma and acute care surgical services.

What the role looks like

• Schedule: 26 weeks per year, with a preferred block pattern of 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off (longer or shorter blocks can be discussed).
• Typical daily workload: about 1-2 consults per day and roughly 1 operation per day on average.
• ED volume: the emergency department sees about 39,680 visits annually.
• Annual projections: approximately 492 consults and 359 operations, with volumes expected to grow.
• APP support: none initially - opportunity to help shape team development.

What we’re looking for

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Surgery.
• Comfortable providing independent surgical consultation and operative care in a growing program.
• Strong clinical judgment and clear communication skills.
• Flexibility and willingness to work the block schedule.
