Job Description
Locum Emergency Medicine opportunity in Fredericksburg, VA - night shifts only. Board-certified in Emergency Medicine with ABEM certification required.
Location and Setting
- High-acuity, 24-hour Emergency Department in a full-service hospital
- ED volume: ~100 patients per day
- Comprehensive specialty and ancillary support available
Clinical and Facility Capabilities
- Advanced surgical and OR services
- Intensive Care Unit and Progressive Care/Step-Down Unit
- Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
- Obstetrics and maternity services, including perinatology
- Cardiac services: cath lab, coronary interventions, electrophysiology, pacemaker/ICD implantation
- Advanced imaging: X-ray, ultrasound, CT, MRI, interventional radiology, nuclear medicine
- Inpatient behavioral health
- Physical, occupational, and speech therapy
- Surgical specialties: orthopedics, spine, ENT, urology, oncology, vascular, gynecology, robotic surgery
- Advanced diagnostic and procedural capabilities available on site
Responsibilities
- Provide emergency care during assigned night shifts
- Manage high-acuity presentations with available specialty back-up and hospital support
- Coordinate patient care, stabilization, and disposition per hospital protocols
Qualifications
- ABEM certification required
- Board-certified in Emergency Medicine
- Active Virginia medical license
- Current certifications: ATLS, ACLS, PALS
