Locum Tenens Adult & Pediatric ENT (Otolaryngology) - Weekend Hospital Call, Worcester MA

A leading healthcare system in Worcester, MA seeks a Locum ENT physician to provide weekend inpatient and emergency call coverage for adults and children. This is 100% on-site call coverage with no clinic duties. Initial assignment August-September 2026 with potential extension.

Assignment details

• Dates: August-September 2026 (potential extension)
• Schedule: Friday 4:00 PM through Monday 6:00 AM
• Frequency: Two weekends per month
• Setting: Hospital-based, on-site call
• Coverage: 100% on-call; includes surgical coverage
• Clinic responsibilities: None

Clinical responsibilities

• Provide weekend call coverage for adult and pediatric ENT patients
• Evaluate and manage ENT emergencies, inpatient consultations, and trauma cases
• Perform operative interventions and bedside procedures as indicated
• Collaborate with ED physicians, hospitalists, surgeons, and residents
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation

Required procedures/skills

• Cerumen removal
• Diagnostic laryngoscopy
• Diagnostic nasal endoscopy
• Excision of tongue fold lesions
• Emergency ENT evaluations and interventions
• Trauma-related ENT care

Qualifications

• MD or DO
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Otolaryngology
• Experience treating both adult and pediatric patients
• Trauma experience required
• Active Massachusetts medical license required (must already hold due to time-sensitive coverage)
• DEA registration required
