Location: Anchorage, AK - Locums inpatient coverage
Summary:
Provide inpatient hospitalist care on a rotating team covering day, night, and weekend shifts. Must manage a full inpatient census and work flexible consecutive shifts as scheduled.
Clinical responsibilities:
- Admit, manage, and discharge hospitalized adult patients
- Manage average census of 18-22 patients per 12-hour shift
- Participate in team-based care and handoffs
- Rotate through day, night, and weekend coverage; no in-house call required
Schedule:
- 12-hour shifts
- Providers must be willing to work 7 consecutive shifts
- Preferably available 2 weeks per month
- Rotating call coverage (remote/phone; no in-house)
Qualifications:
- Board Certified in Internal Medicine (ABIM) or Family Medicine
- Experience and comfort managing a full inpatient hospitalist census
- Flexibility to cover days, nights, and weekends
Contract/Compensation:
- Locum tenens (1099 independent contractor)
- Generous hourly rate
- 100% travel reimbursement on top of rate
- Professional liability (Med-Mal) and tail coverage provided
- Dedicated 24/7 locums consultant to manage credentialing and scheduling
