• Facility: Community hospital Emergency Department
• Location: Sebring, FL
• Annual volume: ~18,000 visits
• ED size: 13 beds
• Coverage model: single-physician shifts (7a-7p and 7p-7a)
• APP coverage: 8 hours daily in off-season; 10 hours during peak season
• Admission rate: ~15%
• Dedicated senior ER for geriatric patients
• EMR: MEDHOST
• Duration: ongoing locum coverage

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage a broad spectrum of emergency presentations
• Lead and supervise APPs and ED staff during shifts
• Stabilize critically ill or injured patients and arrange admissions or transfers as needed
• Coordinate with nursing and hospitalist teams to optimize patient flow and care quality
• Accurately document all encounters in MEDHOST

Requirements

• Board certified in Emergency Medicine (ABEM or AOBEM)
• Active Florida medical license or ability to obtain prior to start
• Current ACLS, PALS, and ATLS certifications
• Preferred: two or more years of recent ED experience
